corsair 650tx vs. bfg ls 550

Looking for some advice here. My 550watt psu recently started smoking and blew up, or at least the fan died so I've started looking for a solid, dependable psu.

i've been looking at the corsair 650tx (http://tinyurl.com/3vfjhr) vs. the bfg ls 550 (http://tinyurl.com/d8u6bd). from what i've read, they both seem like quality units. which would you recommend over the other?

additional details:
these units pack more than enough power for my system. i'll be getting it from newegg (quality customer support) and other psu warranty will come into play. also price isn't a major concern. i just want something dependable.

in case you were wondering:
Cooler Master Elite 330 Mid Tower
4gbs ddr2 ram
1 geforce 8800gt 512mb
2 sata 7200rpm 500gb hds
2 dvd/cdrw drives
gigabyte ga-ep35 mobo
intel core 2 duo e8400 wolfdale 3.0
(btw, the long term plan was to overclock)

thanks!

Even the Corsair 450vx or even the 550vx have plenty of power for your current system. The Antec Earthwatts 500w would even be a good choice too, but I think it only has a 3 yr warranty and the Corsair's have 5 yr warranties. It's up to you, but I wouldn't skimp on the PSU for obvious reasons. Personally I'd get the Corsair 650tx over the BFG, but that is my opinion.

Either of them would've been fine, but I think you are making a good decision with the Corsair PSU. You should have that PSU for quite some time and it should be able to go through a couple of upgrades too!!
