CORSAIR 4GB PC2-6400 DDR2-800

good deal. i just bought this kit 2 times at the egg for $25 AR.

don't forget the live.com cash back for your extra $0.10 savings

Price aside, is this a good memory/brand?

Also, I am slowly building my first rig as various items on my wish list come on sale prices hard to beat. Would it be a good idea to buy this and stock up if my target date to complete the build is February? I am thinking if can I get it any cheaper in next 2 months, or can I get something better for same price over the that time frame...

Purchased this on BF for $14.99 after rebate at the egg. This is a good price too with the free shipping. Seems like it stays around $19.99 to $24.99 price range after rebate.

Ya, and buy now. I don't think quality stuff like this will go much below $20 for 4gb.

Can one use these visa debit cards from rebates online? I have so many coming in from various Symantec deals! I hate it that they cannot be used at gas stations at the pump itself...

Also $20 AR at amazon (free SSS & no tax in CA) for those of us who get taxed by ZZF.

I usually convert those cards into a grocery gift card as those are easier to keep track (and in some places you can simply cash them out, YMMV).

I signed up for a free trial of Amazon Prime so I get free 2day shipping. Time to stock up before the trial ends 😛

Thanks, I try to give something back when I can since this place has taken good care of me over the years. Usually though I am not quick enough on the draw to compete with the vets around here 🙂

I might have to pick up another set of these to go with the set I bought from Newegg yesterday. I'm thinking 8 gigs might be overkill though, unless you want to run without a swap file. AT is suppoed to have a new memory comparison/ram size suggestions article up soon, so I'll prob decide after that.

I decided to just go for 2 pairs because for $50 (I got them when they were $25 AR everywhere) I can get 8 gigs instead of 4gigs for just about every other pair. Also, back in 2003, I got a good deal on 1 gig for more than $50 so this is just smoking to me.

Also, 8 gigs will allow you to do silly things like alt-tab out of games and leave just about every app open.

I'm really wanting to upgrade to 8GB... has anyone purchased two of these kits? Judging by the rebate language, I'm not sure if I would be eligible for both rebates...

Thanks!
