Corrupted screen access/display with Quicktime 5 in Windows XP

NFS4

No Lifer
See my system specs in my sig.

Anyway, I'm using the latest reference driver from NVIDIA (and have also tried the latest beta drivers). Whenever I try to start quicktime or run a QT movie, I the actual QT program/window is corrupted on the screen...meaning that only the text for the menu bar at the top of the window shows up and it's like an overlay on top of any existing windows open (or even on the desktop background). Videos won't play, but I can hear sound. I've tried everything including fooling around with the QT setting in Control Panel.

I don't know what else to do besides come here 😀

I've tried that and clean installs don't work either.
