Corrupt Tar Archive

I have a a 4GB tar.gz archive of thousands of pictures, and it seems that the archive is now corrupt. I can open it, but it only displays one file; a corrupt jpeg image that's only 2mb.

I tried the demo version of Advanced Tar Repair, but it said "Could not repair archive".

Anyone have any further suggestions?
