Wow great follow up after questions being raised about fairness of tests, One more reason I love Anantech website. As much as I always root for the little guy (amd) you have to hand it to Intel for coming back from being slammed with inferior products. I'm glad competition continues in the chip world without it we would still be running p60's and k5's. I can only hope that AMD has something up their sleeve.
I am planning on building a new system soon but as im a cheap bastage, new parts dont really figure into my system building plans, only good thing about this is with Intel taking back the lead maybe I can get a better Opteron or a X2 a lot cheaper than before.

Actually, if you read the other threads robertk's been praising Intel ... it's just that there's been way too many threads about a CPU that is 6 months away from launch, and they all say the same thing.

Thats what I would like to see. No offence to the poster of this thread. I like to see real CPU issues in this forum not just threads about a processor noone can even use.

Do we need to know about conroe....YES. Do we need more than 1-2 threads.....NO.

Can't say whether or not it's an entirely fair test (time warp issues), but I agree that AT deserves some applause for making the effort to get us more reliable information asap. Takes integrity to admit your mistakes and try to correct them asap; many others would simply stonewall, make excuses, or fall back on rhetoric in order to defend their egos. Bravo!

ughhhh!!!! NO!!!! If I cannot buy it it does not do much for me....and I am planning on buying...I am this consistent on evrything including ATI/Nvidia paper launches

Still nothing really exciting about it...4 ipc units and so intel can drop the mhz war!!!

Well they had one hour. That's not a lot of time I bet there was scrambling etc. It was all honest though, and they went back to clarify. I can probably tie my shoes in 10 seconds. Unless you tell me I have ten seconds or else.
