Our lab is in the business for a new cell phone with a number of paranoid security features.
The people that will be using this are rather uptight, so they rather specific requirements that I am not even sure exist. Despite my searching, I cannot find a phone that meets their requirements.
Basically, we need an Android phone with a hardware keyboard, fingerprint scanner and volume encryption. The software we use is written for Android, so we do not have much options in that regard. The hardware QWERTY keyboard is something that some of them cannot live without. Plus, the stuff they are storing on them is sensitive, so they need some kind of encryption that can, at the very least, encrypt all the files stored on the phone. Software like truecrypt would be nice as a third-party solution, but it does not exist for Android. This will be used on a GSM provider's 3G network as well.
I was looking at the Motorola Pro
http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/U...rvices/Mobile-Phones/Motorola-DROID-PRO-US-EN
Motorola promised full device encryption by the 1Q of this year for it, but sadly it lacks a fingerprint scanner.
The Fujitsu phones have fingerprint scanners, but lacks the other requirements:

Like I said, not sure if what they want exists.
Anyone know of a fingerprint scanner accessory that could plug in to a Micro-USB port on an Android phone and be able get the job done? (I will be willing to do something ugly like disassemble it and graft it onto a phone shell, not going to need that many, so I can do some custom modding, although I have no idea how to write drivers for it if they do not exist).
