If I want cheap beer, I'll go Keystone Light.

but simpler times is 6.2% compared to....4.x% with Keystone? and probably paying 2 bucks more?

that is a horrible, horrible decision. why? Anyone drinking Keystone Light is obviously drinking simply to get drunk. There is no other fucking reason to drink Keystone Light--it tastes like ass. Animals don't even like that shit.

Honestly, anyone saying they would prefer Keystone Light is clearly lying. ...or they simply don't like beer. They just want to get wasted.

Taste being a non-issue in this decision, the only factors then should be:
--cost
--time/amount consumed (efficiency) to attain stupid.

Simpler Times is clearly the best choice on the market for this class of beer.

6.2% !! I don't think the Bud/Keystone/Natty Light/Coors drinkers of the world realize what this means. All they have ever known is 4-5% --ABV really isn't a factor that they have ever considered. Seeing as how every single one of these drinkers falls into the "drink to get wasted category" (none of these people like beer, obviously), the move to Simpler Times would absolutely shake the foundation of all they have known. about 1/2 the price for roughly 30% greater drinking efficiency.

Amazing.

People who think Corona is a good beer must have some serious taste bud damage :)

Also, who the hell sells beer in a clear bottle? People that don't know what light does to beer apparently.

you know it. let's you remember it's going in the same color it's coming back out.

actually, the problem with the clear bottle is that it allows light to "pollute" the beer by denaturing many of the happy little lupulomes (sic--it's a funny little critter created when hops are brewed, found in all beers), and the malt, which will change the beer's natural color over time, as well as drastically accelerate the process of "skunkification." Hence, why Corona bought in stores, in bottles, are generally a bit skunky.

Honestly, the can is probably the best way to go for fresh Corona.

different color bottles are used for beers with different characters, the natural color of a beer preferring a darker brown bottle, or even a green bottle. Clear is generally a bad idea for beer.

so "color" is a relative term when it comes to Corona.

Modelo and Dos XX are the only good Mexican beers. I have no idea why people like Corona's at all. They are horrible.

MAN LAW:

Don't fruit the beer... or you're a fruit yourself.

MAN LAW.

not a "man law" at all.

evoking a phrase like this in public simply reveals you as someone that knows very little about the massive variety of beers available in the world, and the historical and cultural contexts in which they have been enjoyed.

Centuries of trial and error have established rather fundamental characteristics of various brewing methods, and how the products of the process are appreciated through many different serving methods.

Repeating such a ridiculous market-driven phrase (ironically established by AB/Miller more than a decade ago to combat the competing import market, which they wanted the US to see as a "faggy" European taste; and yet now you see them brewing their own "fruity" beers) reveals tendencies towards homophobia more than it does the role of an educated consumer.

how was I, in any way, evoking the Reinheitsgebot? Perhaps a few of us are happy that you are even aware of such a thing, maybe even a few think your e-peen is ++ right now, and good for you....but that doesn't relate to what I'm talking about.

Fruit has been used in brewing, and as a garnish during consumption for CENTURIES, even predating the Reinheitsgebot. I'm talking here about big US macros creating a marketing phrase, that essentially ignores the real history of brewing, in an attempt to establish a rule that never existed--besides, AB had long REVOKED the Reinheitsgebot when they switched to rice, so they have no fucking platform to stand on when they try to claim some sort of traditional rule set.

Reiheitsgebot establishes rules for making a particular style, or more specifically: creates a regulatory body that approves the beer produced within a specific region. Pretty much like the DOCG established for and by winemakers in the Chianti region. The Reinheitsgebot does not establish the singular method for making all the world's beer--that was never its intent.

Beer does not travel well. And beer in a clear bottle is goes bad quicker than beer in an amber or green bottle.

Negra Modelo and Pacifico are my two favorite Mexican beers. Carte Blanche is also pretty good. Then there's Sol which is a hair better than Corona.
