Have you seen the newest Civic sedan's? They look pretty cool, the front end is very Accord-esque.

Honda Civic sedan

It's a tough choice. Toyota Corolla's are very nice, one of the most reliable cars on the planet but I like the Civic as well. I think Civic colors are more "vibrant" if that makes sense.

I'd also make my decision based on price.

Yea I've seen it. I'm not a fan of either or, but out of the two I'd take a Civic. The Mazda 3 - the interior felt really cheap when I sat in it - not so sure I'd take that over the Civic

Civic over Corolla. Better looking, best car to modify and it retains it value better. For the mazda 3's, they are hot but way too much over priced.

Pick the Civic (with the better engine) if you want sportier driving character. Choose the Carolla if you want a smoother ride and better isolation. These cars mimic the character of their big brothers (Accord and Camry.) I heard Honda softened the ride on the 2004 Civic's so I'd probably go with that (better ride/handling compromise.)

Corolla - have had one for 5.5 years - not a single problem. Not terribly fast or good-looking, but way more reliable than my 5 year old Accord (which itself is damn reliable and hasn't given me any significant problems). I would trust the Corolla with my life (probably because I can barely push it over 60 😱 ). My Accord handles like a truck compared to my Corolla.

I had this debate myself. I personally perferred the look and feel of the Corolla, and it was significantly cheaper (base model and mid-level model, they are about equal when fully equipped). Corollas also tend to get better gas mileage, more power, and better turning radius. However I caved and my wife won the battle. Civic driver here.

Civic. My 01 has been a good car so far. BTW - unless you can't live without a moonroof, go for the LX. Now that it's got 15" wheels, there's really no reason to get an EX anymore. They're both slow, the 127 to 115 hp doesn't matter.

corollas are probably the better car, but alas they are still known to be "cheap," whereas civics are known to be "youthful" for some reason...

If I were to have to look at these cars and only these cars, then it would be a tough decision. The toyota for reliablility, The civic for styling/etc. I couldn't decide. They are both good for that class of vehicle. It all depends on what you want in a car and how often you use it. However, If I were not limited to those, I'd get a real car...preferably something with a larger displacement than a Diet Coke and a step up from a 4banger....but thats me. 😛
