I agree with you that people's primary reason for disbelief in a supreme being is philosophical in nature. I would submit that unconsciously, anyone who disbelieves does so for philosophical reasons alone.

Cornel West has a longstanding dislike of President Obama, who failed to invite West to his first inauguration. I get the sense that is largely what underlies these sentiments. He is certainly entitled to his opinion, but to me this video just sounds like a jealous man who enjoys the sound of his own voice.
