42" LCD

This time you can pay by paypal and get $50 cashback making this tv $500 shipped. reviews are pretty good, and you can't beat this price

just FYI
It's a 720p TV and while the price for the size is good, 1080p TV's are selling for $100 more. If you will be beyond 8 feet viewing distance, most agree that the difference between 720 and 1080p is negligible. I 'm not sure I agree with that though.

also know that not everyone has a need for 1080p.

I have a main TV for my living room, this will be for my bedroom. I won't be using blu ray on this one and there is no TV in 1080p so it would be useless to spend the extra.

Also, no stations have stated any plans that I know of to move to 1080p either. So unless you really plan on using blu ray or play consoles in 1080p, I wouldn't spend the extra money on it.

Save your money now, and in 3-4 years when it is used, TVs will easily be that cheap.

Not quite. Most HDTV (Save for ESPN, ABC and Fox) is in 1080i. A 1080P TV with a proper deinterlacer can reconstruct the 24 progressive film frames per second from the 60 interlaced "fields". A cheap 720P TV may actually end up showing you a 540P picture from a 1080i source.
