CoreTemp 0.94 crashes

SunnyD

Belgian Waffler
Not sure if it's the app or my machine, but since putting my new machine together, CoreTemp (0.94) has been consistently crashing after running for about a minute.

It's definitely a non-greatful crash too, so it's definitely the app that's crashing... but I'm wondering if anyone else is having similar problems.

Mobo = Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe
CPU = X2 3800+ (also did on a Sempron 64 upto today's CPU upgrade)

I've had .93 crash while running Orthos in the past, I think it is just the app. I can run Anything at 3 gigs here but not that app.. go figure..LOL

Yep, does the same for me with a DFI Ultra-D and overclocked X2 3800+.

I've noticed significant temperature differences between each core when using CoreTemp (as much as 8C). While I know thats possible, I question the accuracy of CT. Actually, I think the issue lies with the temperature sensor on the Ultra-D or the accuracy of AMD's on-die temperature.

It seems like I've read somewhere that the bugs were never all worked out and AMD has stated the accuracy of the sensor is +/- 15C. :Q

I suppose I should mention that neither processor were running overclocked. Both are stock.

The only thing I worry about is that my mobo is a newegg "open box"... but honestly I have zero stability issues other than CoreTemp.

I have it running on the rig in my sig weeks on end no crashes no reboots with .93 and .94 both. Maybe it's a problem with AMD vs Intel :frown:

I installed a Blue Orb on the NB and a Freezer 7 on Friday. Didn't change any settings and now Core Temp crashes after about 1 minute whenever I dual-prime 🙁
TAT doesn't crash though and the dual primes run till the cows come home.
