I am quite curious about my new dual core CPU. This would be the first dual core I've owned... the last multi-processor system being years ago with the ABit BP6 (what a board!).
Anyway, Since installing my X2 3800+, from day one I've noticed Core #1 is always reading about +5 degrees higher than Core #0. Now I know it really doesn't matter much, but I was under the impression, especially at "idle" Core #0 would be doing more work as usually that's where the OS resides.
Regardless of that, I did also want to attest to the AS5 break-in period. It's been a few days since putting this CPU in... the first couple days the CPU would idle at around 36C on core 0 and 40C on core 1. Today, as I'm messing around, core 0 is idling at 27C and core 1 at 32C. Nothing in my system has changed a bit since putting the CPU in, and ambients are pretty much the same. All this on a stock AMD cooler.
