Hi to everyone

I am having a prob with the programme , Core Temp 1.0 RC6 , the temp reading does not seem to show correct temps for my CPU , allthough the CPU load goes up to 95% with a movie the temp stays at 40c on both cores it never changes even though when the CPU is loaded and the fan is increased to nearly flat out .

Has anyone got the name of another decent core temp programme I can check against .

tks

Try speedfan

I had corresponded with the designer of SpeedFan some six years ago.

He has a tremendous task, making that program work with as many chipsets and motherboards as he can. I don't use it anymore, although it had always been an extremely useful program -- with caveats.

It often doesn't read the right sensors, or it reads some of them incorrectly. CoreTemp and RealTemp, on the other hand, tend to focus on the core Tj sensors. Even CoreTemp, back in the day of my Kentsfield Q6600 CPU, had the Tjunction value or throttling temperature wrong from the spec, and only corrected it more than a year or so into the Q6600 lifecycle.
