Core i7 920 @ 2.66GHZ temperatures?

I need to know if my temperature readings are a bit too high. I changed back to stock clocks to see whether or not I have some complications with my thermal paste, which I strongly suspect as I didn't have isopropyl alcohol handy at the time (but do now).

I am running the above CPU with a Noctua NH-U12P in push-pull with the supplied fans.

At 0-1% load for about 10 minutes (idle) I get these temps in CoreTemp:

#0 38C
#1 33C
#2 38C
#3 32C

At full load in Prime95 Blend for 10 minutes they go as high as this:

#0 62C
#1 59C
#2 61C
#3 57C

According to this review, I should get much lower temperatures: http://www.legitreviews.com/article/880/11/

What are your thoughts?

Linx set to 1.5GB stress test, Core #0 at the highest I observed 82C, usually 79-80C, the other cores 2 to 6 degrees less.

Yeah, the D0 is a nice piece of kit. You can get it much higher than a C0 at stock voltages, for example. That's always useful to play it safe.

I was a bit unsure about the temps considering the TJMax is 100 degrees. You think it'll be alright in the long run (2 years approx.)?

ya my C0 is pretty good. i can go up to 4ghz, but my temperature at load is around 85 (with vcore of 1.35), which is kind of high. so right now i'm running at 3.8 (with vcore of 1.26) and temperature around 67.

jandlecack, those i7 chips run really hot, so just keep under 80, you should be fine.

Yeah I'm gonna try my best not to OC it too far. I just re-seated my heatsink and re-applied the AS5 thermal paste, after cleaning everything neatly with isopropyl alcohol.

In the exact same 1:1 conditions as previously stated, I get these temperatures:

#0 33C #1 28C #2 32C #3 28C

This is excellent. Now I only have to wait for a couple of thermal phases to pass so I can start overclocking it again. I'm expecting to do that tomorrow or the day after, latest.

Edit: Prime95 In-Place FFTs RealTemp maximum temperature measures after 10 minutes:

52C, 49C, 50C, 47C

Linx 1.5GB stress test ~10 minutes maximum temps:

54C, 50C, 52C, 49C

These are pretty incredible results considering I hit way higher temps than this running Prime95, rather than Linx.
