Only thing of note is that this chip (or the particular sample they got) consumes lower power than i5-12400. But what is the point of making this China-only? It doesn't even show up on Intel's ARK.

Looks like a pointless CPU, even if you can get your hands on one. Almost the same price as a 12600KF which allows overclocking and has 4 extra E cores.

Yeah, makes no sense. 12600KF is killing it from above and 12400F from below.

Yeah, makes no sense

It's made from scrap salvaged 8+8 dies, with segments of each L3 slice disabled to give it 20MB of L3, as well as the E-cores disabled.

Basically, these are chips made from scrap dies destined for China. Nothing to see here, move along.

I'm asking exactly that, how much do the 12400s and 12500s cost in China?! You can't say that the 12490 is a bad deal for china if you don't know the prices for the other cpus in china.

The Core i5-12490F is now listed at 1600 RMB on a Chinese website, which is around 252 USD. This is exactly 100 RMB more than Core i5-12400 retailing at 1500MB/236 USD.

Hmm...given that pricing, i5-12490F seems like a good deal.
