Looks like a pointless CPU, even if you can get your hands on one. Almost the same price as a 12600KF which allows overclocking and has 4 extra E cores.

Almost the same price for the western world maybe, do we have any idea how it's priced in china compared to the others?!

So China has no access to 12400s? 12500s? News to me if true.
I'm asking exactly that, how much do the 12400s and 12500s cost in China?! You can't say that the 12490 is a bad deal for china if you don't know the prices for the other cpus in china.

The Core i5-12490F is now listed at 1600 RMB on a Chinese website, which is around 252 USD. This is exactly 100 RMB more than Core i5-12400 retailing at 1500MB/236 USD.

Hmm...given that pricing, i5-12490F seems like a good deal.
