Core 2 vs P4

Hey people,

wondering how the Core 2 Duo's compare to P4's. For example, my Intel Pentium M at 1.8GHZ in my laptop rates about the same speed as a 2.8GHz P4. So in my new tower I have a 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo. How would this compare to P4's?

I ask because a lot of games are still listing P4's in their system requirements and I have no idea how to compare that to what I have.

CPU tab up above has benchmarks that include a P4 dual 3.6 GHz being beaten by the E6300.

if you are running a c2d, then you easily exceed the cpu requirement for just about anything atm.
