Core 2 upgrade

I have an AM2 system right now with a dual core.
Do you reckon it would be better for me to upgrade to the Athlon X2 5000+ black edition (2.6ghz) or to a Core 2 system. I'm planning on getting a Core 2 E2160-E4500 and a 680i board.
Which one would be a better choice.
Or should I wait for the Core 2 E5xxx 45nm series

I wouldn't upgrade unless you are going to get an e8400 or a quad core.

If you really must upgradeI would get the e2180 and overclock it
