Sounds like more than just a 'sidegrade' when you envision another 5-10% atop the advantages the 5800K already has over the 9550;

He's getting what...20% over the stock Q9550 with richland?

Not worth the money. If you are going to upgrade then upgrade to an i5 or 6300 (why buy richland with a 7850:confused:).

OC that Q9550 and the difference becomes negligible (of course richland can overclock but starting at 4.4 ghz I don't think it has much headroom).

20% is not enough to upgrade. Guys with a 2500K aren't likely to upgrade to a 4670K and the same applies for a Q9550 to A10-6800K.

Not worth the time or effort.
An OC Q9550 deserves a jump to i5 or i7
SSD going from II - III port wont be that big a deal in real world (non- benchmark, non specialty apps)

Unless you have something specific in mind where you are facing a bottleneck, I'd save sell and Haswell
