I wanted to point someone to this thread, only to find that all the wonderful stuff was "deleted." So, yeah -- "?????????????????????"

LOL Somehow this reminds me of a pouting kid not getting his way and taking his ball home in a huff.

Agreed, If any one is interested here is a link.

If posts were numbered we could point to this post and say "go here for a very well put together guide to understand temperature readings on the C2Q and C2D"

Well, it's Xmas, and I have time on my hands. Last summer, I had promised to take over the "heatsink review" database-sticky. I was told to rebuild the entire sticky, and repost it. The idea was that moderators wanted to discourage people from posting comments to the sticky itself. So I posted a "twin" -- with similar subject-name -- with an essay on heatpipe cooling and encouragement for people to post there. I sent PM's to moderators to get that piece posted as a sticky while I worked on the "database."

There was no response, but I had local people asking me to step in and take over an official position with a non-profit organization, so I begged off working the "heatsink database" sticky. The previous caretaker had also decided similarly, with the very good excuse that he was going back to school or something of that nature.

The OP for "Temperature Guide" had got a lot more attention from THG, and even I myself was a little stunned that the post wasn't quickly moved to sticky-status. If it had been me, I would've left it alone -- as you can see in this thread, it got a lot of approbrium and approval.

People are busy. Frankly, even with more attention to the sticky and guide issues from moderators, I'd still prefer some sort of editorial interactiion from them before pushing something up in a position of pre-eminence.

Still, Anandtech and the forum moderators might think of CompuTronix' reaction as a sort of "market signal," and they might attempt to respond to it positively.
