Hi all, first post so go easy on me.
My question is, is idle of 36C too high for my E6600 or do I need to revisit my cooling methods ?
I've had my E6600 for about 2 weeks. Initial temps were idle 42 and load 50 with the stock HS. It was a real pain to install and at first it did not click properly and then when I tried reinstalling it, I broke one of its platic pins (blessing in disguise I think).
Anyway, I then went and bought an Arctic Freezer 7, which installed much easier (even though it was the same fitting design).
E6600 is overclocked to 2.7Ghz and I now have idle 36 and load 39.
BTW my room is at normal room temps (don't know exact temp), and case has 5 fans installed.
Thanks
