I just ran a PCMark05 est on it to give all of those people like me who enjoy seeing the numbers.

an unoverclocked x6800 scores 7547 on cpu and 4487 on memory subtests.
by lightly overclocking a 6400 on air I achieved a score of 8670 and 6589.


I've had this one up to 3.7 but I had some stability issues that I havent had time to resolve.

 
That's not a *light* overclock by any means. lol. Congrats on an awesome OC.

P.S. BTW a *lightly* overclocked X6800 should achieve 9000+ CPU score. 😉
 
Are you running 2:3 ratio, or did you mean to put 425FSB instead of 325FSB. Nice 60% OC. My E6400+DS3+OCZ does the samething, but at a lower vcore of 1.35. What mobo are you using?

Im running with the multiplier(divider) at 2.0 so I have a 1:1 ratio.



yeah I did mean 425x8, and I noticed that I could run it at 450x8 with out upping the voltage (though I didn't check it for stability at that clock) can you tell I was up all night oc'ing that night? 😛
 
I'm gonna go crazy on the voltage onces my Ultra-120 comes in. I think I can do 3600 @ 1.4V Vcore and 2.2 Vmem. I got it to boot to 3600 @ 1.35V but not orthos stable.
 
hmm i got 9631 pc marks but forgot to snap the picture (have the PCR file tho, no clue what to do with it), this was at 3.6 but failing prime and pi, 360 fsb, 10 multi, 1:1, and 3-3-3-9 timings.... soon as i get a stable clock ill post, oh, using the p5w, 1201 rev, and muskin memory

i was getting near 0-3 fps on the cpu tests, the one that looks liek a desert combat situation... is that normal?

It's supposed to do that on the CPU test.

My Score is limited more by my HDD than anything. I have very similar scores to other people with systems in my range but my HDD scores are very low. I have an older SATA drive that I use because it still works. It's fine for me.
 
hmm, seems i cant get a stable prime95 past 3.30 ghz.... see if anybody can find something im doing wrong... im beginning to thing a gigabyte board with a 6600/6700 would have been better than this x6800

thats basically what ive been runnin at... whenever i go to 3.35-3.65 ghz i keep failing prime and pi... iv tried core voltages up to 1.5 and ram is allready at max of 2.4, which this mushkin mem is rated at 2.4....

BUT, prime ONLY fails on the second core.... i can run it on the first core @ 3.60 ghz all night and no problems, but if i run a single copy on the 2nd core, it pukes, with 2 copies, it pukes on the second core...

ive tried nearly everything aside from maxing the core voltage... i dont wanna fry the sucker, (temps at 29 idle, 40 load @ 3.30, 55 is the most ive seen, 1.5v at 3.6)... i would like to know what my limiting factor is, is it the ram timings, speed, or voltage? the mobo fsb? the cpu fsb, should i even be worrying about the mch and ich voltages?

its a week 27 cpu... batch: L627A664... rev 05B... voltages on the rails: 3.3 = 3.30v... 5 = 5.03v... 12 = 12.14v.. all taken by pc probe, and verified with a fluke multimeter...

why would it be only the 2nd core that fails the test?... i know asus says not to, but would it be wise to put that fan for the NB on even if i have an active cooler? (ZALMAN CNPS9500)

nu luck there from where i left off, but i might as well leave it off unless there is something that it actually helps...
 
Give the max Vmch. (1.65V unless you have a new revision that goes up to 1.85V) Intel OC'ing is all about mch. You can't give 2.4VDIMM and at the same time leave Vmch on auto. Remember that mch = memory controller hub.
