Anyone knows of any motherboard supporting new Core 2 Duo processor but supporting up to 4G DDR400 & AGP slot?

I have 4x1G DDR400 & AGP card needs to put in use, I just want to upgrade the CPU, but nothing else. Any idea? Thanks.

Well, I already have exact this 4CoreDual-VSTA board. However, it supports either 2x1G DDR 400 or 2x1G DDR2 677/533, not 4x1G DDR 400.

this is just what you were looking for.

Still based on the same i865P+ICH5 found on the ASRock (in spite of Gigabyte's specs incorrectly listing the ICH7). It is also not available in North America.

The 865 is the only Intel chipset currently shipping that has a "real" AGP controller. All Intel 9xx chipsets are PCI Express based that can only support a 'fake' AGP implementation by wiring an AGP slot to the PCI bus. The Intel 865 is still a good Northbridge, its the ICH5 that is a bit dated.

The VIA PT880 used on the ASRock is actually just as old as the Intel 865/875, but has undergone a couple revisions since then (PT880 > Pro > Ultra) and uses a slightly updated Southbridge.

I'm afraid those are the only choices available with your requirements.

If you look at Asrocks lates incarnation it sports the latest south bridge with SATA II.

If I were you I would just buy the Q6600 for another $83.00 dollars with the
1066FSB and DDR support with the 4CoreDual-SATA2 or currant 4CoreDual-VSTA.

:)

Are you talking about 184 pin DDR400 ( PC3200 )?

I don't think there is such a board ...

ASRock is it. There are no others.

In addition to the 4CoreDual-VSTA and 4CoreDual-SATA2, which are essentially the exact same board WRT DDR400 or Q6600 support, ASRock also as the 4CoreDX90-VSTA mATX board based on P4M900 with VIA's new but still inferior Chrome9 HC integrated graphics.

P4M900 supports single-channel memory only but features a PCI Express x16 slot with all 16 lanes implemented. The 4CoreDual-XXXX boards support dual-channel memory but the PCI Express x16 slot implements only four lanes due to limitation of the PT880 Pro/Ultra Northbridge.

There might be an odd-ball motherboard out there in another company's line-up that supports Intel Quad-Core, DDR400, and PCI Express, but if I haven't heard of it, then surely its no good. :p

i.e. ASRock has been doing this concept in their line-up for a long time now with great success. Nobody is doing it better, if at all.

So If for example ur a gamer what do u prefer a dual channel DDR400 capability or full PCI Expressx16 capability>? What are the advantages and disadvantages of having or not having one of them>? Thanks so much...
