hi i have the asus p5v-vm dh

its an excellent board and has built in wireless, core 2 duo compatible, remote control and loads of ports. it cost me about £50 not sure wat that is in US

i currently have it set up with an e6400 core 2 due processer and works fine

I really like my Gigabyte ga965-ds3 It was around $120 and is recognized as being a very good overclocker. It offers solid performance without what I feel are unnecessary frills the $150+ boards offer. I think it is easily one of the best bang/buck boards for those reasons.

I just discovered i could save my self a ton of cash going with a 965 chipset...from what i gather the 975 is really for crazy people that want to run ecc and stuff liek that and the 965 is newer? is that correct.
