Will the MSI P6n-SLI Platinum 650i board get a recommendation for c2d? It had a good review at Anandtech and seems to be one of the least troublesome boards out there right now with a good featureset to boot.

MSI P6N SLI Platinum is on my recommendations list as an alternative to P5N-E SLI. Gary Key announced a roundup article on 650i/680i boards. I don't know if it gets an Editor's Choice award.
