Hi, I am about to buy a new mouse and keyboard.
I have those cordless keyboard and mouse in my mind.
i want to know if they will performance as good as a PS/2 mouse and keyboard which i am currently using.

Logitech cordless mouse and keyboard. any other?
mostly for Halflife, UT and Diablo2...

I don't know if technology has improved things but in the 90s I had a logitech cordless mouse that used RF freqs. to send data. There was a slight delay when trying to perform precise clickin' say in a golf game with the "3 click" swing meter.

For normal Windows stuff you can't tell the difference.

The technology is different now.... There is no lag what so ever in the response. Unless of course your batteries are dying. Just a note: The keyboard rules, but I find there cordless mice to heavy because of the batteries. That may be because I am used to and use a Microsoft Optical Mouse which is very light.

From my experience, cordless keyboards will not "lag" or produce any side effects.

Cordless mouses on the other hand, especially the logitechs do not bode well with me. The movement is less precise and for fast shooter games that left me for dead, ie halflife and UT.

For slower genres the cordless mouse would be fine, this is just my opinion.

The biggest problem with a cordless mouse is that you cant use ps2rate to up the sampling rate so you are stuck at 60Hz which in my opinion sucks. If I could just find a PS2 to USB adapter I would be set cause Id setup my keyboard to use it. I cant get rid of this keyboard cause its one of those classic enhanced 101 type, without the windows keys I hate, and with the large BS key, slash above the enter key which is normal sized... so, if you know of something that can convert a PS2 KB to USB LET ME KNOW!!!! PLEASE!!!!

pyr, you won't find a PS/2 to USB adapter anywhere.

The two difference serial busses are quite different and require some fairly complex hardware on both the peripheral end as well as support on the computer end.

The only reason you see products like the MS Elite KBD 1.0 which has a PS/2 to USB converter bundled is because they have built in support for both USB use and PS/2 use. If you try to plug that convertor cable into something else I can gaurantee you it simply will not work. Theoretically it might even be able to do some damage to your device, but I highly doubt that. It just won't work.

Making such a universal convertor cannot be done without extra hardware and software support...
