Cordless keyboards

Just have a quick question about cordless keyboards. Im a gamer and after owning a cordless mouse for a while there was response delay and quickly returned it. Now the logitech which in my opinion makes the best keyboards and mice. Logitch only makes cordless keyboards.. well the good ones are (nice looking) I wanted to pick up one of their keyboards but im wondering if there will be delay? I know keyboards dont have to be as responsive as a mouse but is there a response delay? should i stay away?

thanks

i use this

and am very happy...no lag during gaming or office tasks...I recommend that you keep your cell phone a few feet away from the keyboard/mouse, though, it causes interference ... esp[ecially if th ecell phon eis between the keyboard/mouse and the receiver.

Bluetooth Wireless = Long distance, slow response.
RF Wireless = Short distance, fast response.

So you want a fast RF keyboard, not a Bluetooth one 😉

I've got a Logitech RF keyboard, and haven't noticed any delay at all.

what mouse had the response delay. some older wireless or non gaming ones just had bad refresh rates to begin with.

Jonesthewine thats the one i wanna buy! only thing is i wont be using the mouse. Kinda sucks i have to spend that money and not use the mouse. To bad its not like the dinovo where it comes with 2 resievers so i could have sold the mouse : )

Anyway umm i had the mx1000, the first laser mouse logitech made. What a bad mouse for games. Its so heavy, small for hand and just stunk. Im still useing this one and its hard to change becuase there is no mouse out there that has 3 buttons which are located where your fingers and thumb rest, which is perfect for gaming...

I had to get this off argentina site of logitech becuase guess they arnt updated : )

Im looking at the new G5 mice but still that thumb button is such a bad place.. i dont know why they make it like that!

I own a Microsoft cordless combo and I've never experienced the delay unless I was either too far away from the receiver and or the battery was very low on the keyboard. Other than that, it's been working flawless.

dual optical mouseman? ick.and yea that shape sucked. g5 isn't heavy at all, and weights are optional. mx1000 was beta product sorta, it had bugs with going idle too quick and such. i'm sure they've fixed it in next gen. i'm waiting for them to go back to two thumb buttons like the mx700 grr

With my RF Logitech Keyboard and MX700, I experience no response lag. Unless my hand/eye-coordination is faulty, moving my hand and watching the cursor move, I cant notice any lag.

Im waiting for an MX700 with better feet, better battery life, better sensor and lighter.

Once I got used to the feel, I just cant put down my MX700. I'll probably keep using it until it dies or something obviously better comes along.

ALL Cordless HAS DELAY.

It all depends on your tolerance.

My MXDUO mouse is unusable for games, its just not fast enough.
The Keyboard is worse, easily noticeable when I'm typing a paper @ 100WPM. The word appears on the screen like 1/2 second after I type it, which is a VERY noticeable delay.

Don't get Wireless if your gaming. Simple as that. Otherwise, they're fine for everything else.

whats wrong with the mx700 feet?

i guess they do wear away on rough surfaces... but thats fixable using teflon tape for mouse feet. you can get a roll off the ptfe mousetape at cshyde.com for cheap🙂 much cheaper than those mod shops that make u pay a couple dollars for the few inches they resell people.

I have a logitech mx3100 and experience no delay at all from the keyboard and I have no problem using the mx1000 it comes with for games. Maybe I'm not that sensitive, but I really don't think there's a problem using using cordless any more. I've used an lx700 set before and that wasn't ideal for gaming because the mouse wasn't so good. I'm sure the new G series stuff is even better than the mx3100 and that seems perfect already to me.

Edit: Obviously all wireless devices have some delay but if that delay, but there is no reason that that delay has to be in any way detectable by humans. If the delay is shorter than the time between frames being rendered I don't see the problem.

I use my MX700 directly on the desk and sometimes the feet dont slide when trying to move the mouse extremely small distances. I guess the feet are dirty or have worn away a bit more than would allow for a good slide.

What type of material is exactly best for replacement mouse feet? I know teflon tape is considered good but Ive never found any here in the UK, Id barely know where to start looking.

One other point to note, my MX700 is a pain to recharge at times. Cleaning the contacts has became a regular task to ensure charging takes place.
