Cordless keyboard/mouse for gaming?

Got the Logitech Elite Duo and they work great. But for some reason the mouse goes into battery saving mode when it wants to or something and I have to click one of the buttons to bring it back. In Desert Combat I can be controlling the tank or walking around and go to turn to shoot and it not move untill I click either right or left mouse button.

Anyone know how to turn this off or maybe some tips on getting better reception(which could be the problem) or something? Out of about a hour of gameplay it will do it 5-6 times.

Hey that is cool, battery saver mode. My mouse stays 'on' even when not in use and drains the batteries even faster. Have you look at the installed mouseware software to see if it can be disabled? As far as reception goes it's best to keep it away from the monitor as that seems to cause the most interference at least with mine.

i checked the mouse properties for the mx700 and there doesn't appear to be a battery saver mode, and I have been using it for gaming for a while now and never had the problems you described. when you go through the device setup, it'll say to put the receiver at least 8 inches away from any electronic devices for optimal performance. if you try that and it doesn't work, maybe you'll have to reinstall drivers or return it.

I think the MX700 comes with rechargeable batteries. Mine is older version they took off the shelf. Of course the MX series doesn't need the mode because they have rechargeable batteries.

I ain't even sure its called battery saver mode. I do know when the mouse ain't in use for a few mins it starts to blink real lightly. So I assume this is battery saver mode?

i also have a MX700 with the elite keyboard and it is great!

i don't play much games but recently played thru all of FReelancer and it is fantastic for it..

even better now i remember to put it on the cradle every night

mx duo! older non mx suck horribly, 50~hz refresh is totally inadequate, let alone the lower sensor resolution.

I have the non-MX Elite Duo and I think the mouse works just fine with FPS games. I think it is even better than my Razer Boomslang.

Just buy mice and keyboard with cords and ebay those things. Its just not worth it. They say wireless but you still need an ir port in front and battery problems etc. More of a hassle if u ask me. Get a func 1030 with a mouse retention cord and you wont even feel the cords.

Yeah I am thinking about hooking my MS Explorer 3.0 back up. Keeping the keyboard hooked up though. No problems with it and I love the volume wheel.

I vote the Cordless Duo from Logitech (the one with the natural keyboard, if you fancy it). I love my MX700, and it's been rock solid for every game that I've played (enough that I have no less than 7 in the house).

Sniper, are you hooking them up with USB or the PS2 ports? Cause they really produce some funky results on USB (mine do anyway) and they work flawlessly hooked up to the PS2 ports.

I wouldn't trade my cordless KB/Mouse in for anything and I game a lot with them.

I got one hooked to the PS/2 port(mouse) and the other to USB. Could this be my problem? I though it was awful strange when I hooked my moms new MX Duo up(got her old elite duo) the manual said to use both PS/2 ports and was showing the USB to be used with a laptop and Mac.

So could that be the problem?

Yup, I'd use the PS/2 ports only if I were you. It shouldn?t be too hard to switch them over and try them out that way. I read that in the manual as well and despite that I tried it with USB anyway and it produced strange results indeed. Plugging both of them into the PS/2 ports any everything works as advertised. On mine I has to use the provided adaptor to convert the mouse I think (or keyboard) from USB to PS/2 and the other device already had the correct end for PS/2 usage.

I lost the USB to PS/2 adapter. It says to use the PS/2 adapter for PC's but I didnt know that till now. I just thought you could use whichever you liked.
