I unfortunately have not used either setup but if your budget allows, I recommend the Logitech Cordless Desktop MX.

It is possibly the best wireless mouse/keyboard combo on the market now and is fast enough for most gamers needs.

I tested it on my carpet just now which has pretty short pile and it wasnt very smooth althought YMMV. Depends on the carpet i suppose.

EDIT: Sorry, its named differently in America. Here it is.

i have the mx duo and love it, but no saying those other ones arent great too. i like the extra buttons of the mx duo and the general better feel of it. the best way to choose is to find a comp store that would have both on display but, just pick whatever looks woth it

I upgraded to the MX Duo after using a lower-end Logitech wireless desktop setup earlier. Totally worth it - connectivity is great, extra mouse buttons have made life a lot easier, and the mouse charger is also a nice plus. If you can put down the $70, it's a good deal.

Id like to thank people who have provided advice here. After a slow start, some opinions have been formed.

Research - If Im honest, unless you break the MX Duo or someone decides to wipe out all USB ports in PC's, then you will probably be using this MX Duo for a number of years. It may be that your cheaper choices are acceptable and will last that long but the Cordless MX Duo is a great purchase and as you see on this thread, its probably the number 1 cordless keyboard/mouse combo.

Perhaps if you enlightened us on what you intend to use it for, we could tailor our advice better to suit you.

I dont know whether the extra $50 is worth it to you. The extra buttons, the recharging base and the responsiveness are all strong points about the Duo. Maybe you dont need split second movement as you dont play FPSes or you dont particularly need the extra buttons because you've grown used to 2-3 buttons and a wheel.

One thing I just thought of, are you left or right handed? The MX700 is tailored to suit a right handed person and I personally dont find it too comfortable in my left hand. I tested it out for 5 minutes just now.

Another good suggestion made would be to go to a local store where you can perhaps see the mice/keyboards in action and wrap your hands around it.

Keep us informed and keep asking questions if you feel the need.

The MS one looks like the one I have. Works great, but notice that the home/end/del/ins keys are different than any other keyboard. That's bummer for me because I'm very used to using those. If you use those and don't want to learn a new keyboard, I would avoid the MS product.

I have the microsoft wireless natural multimedia keybord.

I love it. I love it. I love it. I love putting it on my tower to clear off my desk for books and papers etc...

The mouse is no good for games, not wracheted. So you just cycle through guns. So I keep my old Logitech iFeel Mouseman Plugged in in the corner.

It is super handy to press a button and have my calculator pop up on screen.

The sleep / turn off functions dont work so good. But I probably just need to set it up and I dont have time or desire.
