Copying files..

Kind of a stupid question, but I'm looking to copy about 100GB of files from a laptop to a desktop. Right now I'm thinking about putting them on an external hard drive, and then copying them over to the desktop but this could take some time. Is there a better/easier way?

A USB HDD is probably faster than wireless (unless you have N), but is probably slower than wired Ethernet (esp. Gigabit).

Ethernet is easier and faster. But - what's the hurry. Just let the system do it when you are doing something else, i.e., having lumch, dinner, etc.

As for external drive, eSATA would be the fastest, then USB3, then Firewire, then USB2.
