Copying a SID

I connect to my office via a home VPN setup. I've been using a company provided laptop to do this, but its a real dog. A PII with 128 of memory for NT4. I've setup a new machine. I have setup everything on my new machine to do what I need except, of course, my new machine does not have the same SID as the old one so I can't put it on the network. Any way to copy the SID from the old machine to the new one?

Try this:

make your new machine member of a workgroup with EXACTLY the same as the domain you are connecting too.

Also, create a local user account, with the same username and password as you have on the domain.

Thanks throuhg Pass-Through Authentication, it should work fine
