Copy or clone a sim card?

Nothing nefarious but I've starting mountain biking. My main phone has all work, settings, calendar, pdfs, pretty much everything and breaking it would be expensive and time consuming to replace.

I'd still like to take my backup phone in case there is an emergency, can still reply to work emails if need by, listen to music, gps, browse atot on shady breaks etc. And I don't care about this phone if I break it, lose it etc.

Problem is my note 4 is inside a hefty case and taking out the sim and putting it in my backup phone and then back the other way when I get home can get annoying.

Cloning sims is probably difficult and illegal

Basically, you just want the same phone line (phone number and data access) on a second phone right? (Can configure email on phone manually)

Att has this number sync program, which kinda fits your use case(phone number portability, but no data, and is meant for tablets/wearables)

As for other providers, don't think there is an easy way. You could always put sims in both phones, call up your provider and switch the active sim on the phone line (which might take time and be complicated)
