copy files between 2 routers

I have 2 routers, one wired 4 switch router and another wireless router.

The wired router is connected to the internet and the wireless router is connected to the wired router.

Internet > Wired Router > Wireless Router > Wireless PC

One of my PC is wireless and can connect to the internet, but I can't send files to it from one of my wired PC that is connected to the wired router.

The wired computer IP is 192.168.2.104

My wireless computer IP is 192.168.0.131

What do I do?

You configured the Routers to have two Networks.

The second Router has to be configured like this, http://www.ezlan.net/router_AP.html

Yes. But it is completely unnecessary. Just make them the same network like jack suggested.

Add a route on the 192.168.2.0 router for the network 192.168.1.0 with a next hop of the 192.168.1.0's WAN port.

At this point you have broken network browsing (because you're on two different networks) and will need to use on \\IP address to reference shares or setup a DNS server.

Essentially making it WAY more complicated than it needs to be.

The first Network becomes like the Internet to the second Network ( http://www.ezlan.net/shield.html ).

Therefore the second network can copy files from the first the same way you would copy files from the Internet.

However the first network would not see the second because it is blocked by the second router's Firewall.

You can use a program like UltraVNC to connect to the second network and copy files the way you do remote from the Internet.

How would you use this if you have a domain server, to control your ip's and not a router? My setup is that I have about 15 computers on one DNS Server. I now need to add a linksys wireless router. I cant quite get it to have the DNS server to assign an IP to the wireless router, does this make since? Anyway, I have no problem getting the wireless systems on the domain when they connect and I can share files off the DNS Server, but I cant transfer between wireless and wired systems, the IP ranges are: Wireless 192.168.1.100 (default) and Domain is 192.168.168.100-150. I spent about 2 hours with linksys sopport and couldnt get a single person that even understood what I was trying to do, they all tryed to have me do methods like you discribed above, but they never got it to work correctly, (it's probaly something I'm doing) Let me know if you guys need more info, any help and links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

1) Put a piece of tape over the WAN port of the new WiFi router. (I'm not kidding about this. Leaving the exposed port is just asking for wiring mistakes later).


2) Log onto the new WiFi router's administration screen. Turn off the DHCP Server on the new WiFi router.

3) Set the IP address /Subnet mask of the LAN side of the WiFi router to an unused IP in the same subnet as the rest of your network. Write the IP address on the router for future reference. You can use this IP address to access the router's administration site when necessary.

3) Connect one of the WiFi router's LAN ports to your network with an ethernet cable.

Now, any PCs that attach through WiFi will broadcast DHCP Discovery requests to your network and your Server's DHCP Server will assign them an IP address. DHCP will register your Wifi-attached PCs with the DNS Server automatically, unless you have that turned off.
