Cops wanna ban Reno 911 TV show

I guess it's a good thing that cops aren't allowed to decide when and where the first amendment applies (ideally, anyway). 😛
 
Sometimes the show to me is comic genius, and no I'm not kidding. Either it is genius, or my standards are just so fubared from all of the sh*t on tv. One scene where they have to make sure they don't act like dicks with the FBI around, because they know they can't help it, just hit home with me. 😛
 
heh, i wonder how the cops here in reno, nv actually feel that they are being mocked by comedy central...

too bad they film it in vegas though
 
I don't cops in real life are much more competent. Think about it - who decides to become a cop besides:

(1) A legacy - father was a cop, grandfather was a cop, OR

(2) A Misfit with a Gun Fetish - barely passed highschool, turned down by the military, but in need of a power trip.


Now, the first is to be commended. He's joining because he views it as a proper job, and a service to society, like his father and those before him did. This type makes up the populace of cops who do their job well and hard, and truly deserve the respect they get.
HOWEVER, the majority, from what I've seen, is the latter. The losers and rejects that want to take a position of power, but lack the responsibility to get one in any other avenue than as a cop with a gun. These are the asshats that make up my town - I know so many cops that I went to school with and used to be the bullies. There were two kids who used to kick cats and harm animals. Yes, psychopathic tendencies seems to make for entry into the uniform!

It is comic genius, you're not fubared. Comedy like that is so hard to do correctly, and they do it so well. 😀
 
Don't be alarmed when it gets banned. Anything that pisses someone off is always in danger.

Note that I don't want it banned and think the whole thing is stupid, but I have no faith in the system.

It airs on the same network where a cartoon child can kill, swear and blaspheme all religions. It's probably pretty safe. 😉
