Cops make up laws now?

This video illustrates exactly why I don't respect police officers, and why I secretly desire to be one. Can anyone say power trip?

Sorry if this is a repost. I searched and didn't find anything.

Wow. I had very good experiences with cops; it's amazing how unprofessional this one was (to put it lightly).

Damn PoPo. Actually the kid should have diffused the situation by just handing over the ID in the first place without talking back. Then the COP went crazy and took it too far.

20 year old has a video camera in his car. He pulls into an empty parking lot, then a cop comes in behind him. The cop asks him why he is in the parking lot, and the kid asks if he has done anything wrong. The cop asks him for his license etc, and the kid says something like, "have I comit a crime?". The cop freaks out and makes him get out of the car then explodes at him for about 5 minutes naming off random laws he could have him arrested for. When the cop realizes there is a camera he starts getting nicer.

He threatened the kid like 10 times to have him arrested for resisting arrest.

FWIW, in some states, the operator of a motor vehicle is required upon request to provide his/her drivers' license to a peace officer..it's also illegal in some states to record audio/video without consent/notice. 😉

He does sound a little crazy, though. :Q

hmm a officer threatening to falsely arrest a person and make up multiple charges. WTF does the idiot still have a job?

Hopefully he no longer does

no shit.

telling a person the have to answere quesitons and the other shit.

i really hope this hits the news outlets.

Something is up with the kid. 2 times he's been picked out. Check out the news article the video links to. Something seems fishy with this guy. Especially since he is a 19-20 year old punk out with a video camera running whenever he drives? WTF is up with that.

so what?

the whole video is there. the cop goes nuts on him.

so he had it happened before and puts in a video camera (smart guy). I have seen more then a few people with them in the car.

Geez that was hairy.

I mean, the driver could have just avoided the situation to begin with by handing him his ID and then answering that he was waiting for a friend when he would eventually be asked. My guess, though, if he would have been asked to leave and then refused because the lot is open etc, etc....

Anyway, the cop absolutely lost his cool and professionalism. I also hate hearing a person of authority essentially making up bullshit charges and threatening arrest.

I suppose the guy could've just kept his mouth shut like a good boy, but really what is the harm of asking "what did I do wrong?"? All a cop has to do is say "you were speeding", "you were swerving", "you were snorting coke off the dashboard". I mean it's not that hard.
