As compared to the criminals who murdered 14204 in 2013 one every 36.9 minutes?

Not every person killed by a cop is murdered. In fact very few would qualify as murder.

There are many many many times more citizens in the public than there are police officers.

It doesn't matter if every person killed by a cop is considered a murder. The US has a wildly disproportionate level of police homicide as compared to other developed countries and that should be concerning to anyone.

Unless these other developed countries have the same racial demographics, your statement is meaningless (after all how many threads do we have here about the race of these police victims).... Throw in countries with similar population with a thug culture mentality as well to make it an even more accurate comparison...

Of course it isn't meaningless. Basically you're arguing that we can't compare police activity in the US to anywhere, ever. That's nonsense, and aggressively ignorant.

What gave you such a silly idea? Can you ground it in any research on the topic?

"Thug culture mentality", huh? Do you guys even realize how racist you sound?

Do you even realize how clueless you sound?

Do you deny that there is an element of the culture that glorifies criminality and violence? You must acknowledge it to address it. The problem with racism is not in acknowledging uncomfortable truths, but in applying them unjustly to an individual. ALL people deserve to be judged on their personal merits and not have some trait of their race or culture or nationality as a whole, true or perceived, assumed and applied toward them undeservedly.

Do not judge a police officer on how you feel "most" police officers behave. Do not judge a black man on how you feel "most" black people behave. To do so is bigoted.

Is it racist to acknowledge that black people more readily contract HIV and have a predisposition toward heart disease and lactose intolerance? No. The first step to understanding it is to find out WHY and you must acknowledge it to do that.

black on black violence is the real problem.

http://www.politifact.com/punditfac...illiams-no-1-cause-death-african-americans-1/

"I think there’s fear of intimidation, harassment being legitimized by the fact that there is a high rate of crime, especially among young black men," Williams said. "No. 1 cause of death, young black men 15 to 34 — murder. Who’s committing the murder? Not police. Other black men."

Well half of the police shootings (or was it killings?) were white folk....

Why Switzerland? Why not compare to a multiethnic country like England or Canada which are much more comparable to the US in terms of ethnic issues/population?

Why bring race in?

That is just distraction from the actual problem. The problem is the police no longer care about anyone's rights, including their right to live. They are trained to fear everyone and everything. It's not a race problem. It's an us vs them problem.

You'll notice that I was replying to someone else who raised it as an issue.

While race tends to be a contributing factor I think that you're mainly correct. But, it also (at least in the developed world) appears to be mainly an American issue.

Sorry, wasn't ranting at you. Just ranting in general.
