I'm swapping my good old p2-99 (BX) and Katmai 500@560 (w/original boxed cooler)
to an 815ep with a P3-1000..

I read that this chip is not secure to be overclocked.
It is true?

Someone who have this can help me??

I had a cousin with a k7-750@750, K7V, 128Mb Crucial, Maxtor 7200.30Gb, Viper2
my current system is
p3-500@560, p2-99, 128Mb Crucial, Maxtor 7200.30Gb, Viper2

Nothing work in this wonderfull coffe-machine...
the quake3 works at 2/3 of my frame rate,
the rogue spear NOT WORK on the wonderful athlon, etc...

AMD??? maybe for my dog.

I heard the same thing 2 year ago about the k6-2.

well you won't be able to o/clock that puppy much as 1 gig is close to the max for the present core!
