Ok, getting a heatsink to review (CAK38) and I'm scared for my life about the single clip, so I asked for a copper shim as well. Now I heard that this thing *might* short your CPU. Is this true? I also heard you have to coat your processor with non-conductive material before you install this. Is THIS true?

Depends on hte shim you get... some shims have hte cutouts especially for duron/t-birds.

i don't really see the need for a shim. so long as you take your time and don't do anything stupid(such as angling the heatsink) then you'll be fine. i've taken off and put on my FOP38 numerous times, but the first time i was really nervous because of the amount of tension the spring had. once you get it on, you realize it isn't that hard at all ;)
