Sounds like the cop was bullshiting to me. I dont think the kid was even breaking the law.

It's still a fucking stupid law. Why should skaters be denied the freedom to use their mode of transport after sunset? The city sounds like a fucking dictatorship.

Because of one law? While I'm sure that make skateboarders are just trying to get around, way too many like to screw up the flow on the sidewalks, grind and break stuff, and just generally cause trouble.

Apparently the people of San Francisco don't want them around.

Dude, there is ALWAYS force being used. It's not just some term to use when you punch someone. The officer talking to the kid is a level of force.



And as for the problem you have comprehending the whole detaining issue, here is what you said- "When a subject resists an officers attempt in any way for detainment"

I am saying that did not happen here. The kid was ALREADY being detained while sitting on the ground. You have the definitions of "detained" and "force" a little mixed up.

Wait a min. here, are you claiming talking to a criminal is " force"?. Should we have an LEO send them a f-ing candy gram w/flowers instead??.

Haha! that "skater" deserved what he got. Even lanky white kids should watch Chris Rock's "how not to get beat up by the police." If the kid would've been all calm and pleasant and the cop acted the same way on tape, the kid might be looking at a nice settlement check from the State/City.
