Bulls__t. Crime has been going down for decades and crime against police has also been going down as well.

Biggest reason cops quit is boredom. That and many of the risk come from them doing no knock warrants. shooting unarmed people, attacking those filming them, etc... police are their own worst enemies.

These Are the Top 10 Most Dangerous Jobs in the U.S.
http://newsfeed.time.com/2014/01/15/these-are-the-top-10-most-dangerous-jobs-in-the-u-s/

I'll save you the reading, police are not even in the top 10.

What exactly is more dangerous than being a cop? For starters, a trash collector is twice as likely to die on the job versus a cop, fishing is 7 times more dangerous than being a cop, and logging workers, nearly 9 times more dangerous.
The majority of police deaths are not as a result of violence in the line of duty either, most have occurred accidentally rather than feloniously.

Yeah, well you missed the point -- this particular cop appears to have engaged in a criminal act of stupidity. And, cops being shot at isn't even the biggest threat they face, it's pulling someone over and getting hit by an oncoming car.

My point, though, is that cops DO have a dangerous job even if it's not in the top ten. My point is also that you have to be a moron to act in a way that puts the cops adrenaline into gear. It sucks, but sitting there calmly with you hands on the wheel and moving slowly is just common sense. I don't want to give a jumpy cop any excuse to become a target.

He seemed to pull him over for not putting on his seatbelt while he moved his car up in line for gas.

Looked to me like the guy wasn't stopping for gas. His car is parked behind another one that isn't in line for gas, and the guy likely wouldn't be getting out of the car otherwise. The cop must have seen him pull into the parking lot, but still ... I find it hard to believe even the biggest dick of a cop would ticket someone for a seat belt violation in that scenario.

If anyone wants a short recap..

Cop: Let me see your license
Guy: *Goes in car to grab license*
Cop: *BANG BANG BANG BANG* WHY DID YOU GO INTO YOUR CAR?!

I've had the opposite issue. I was pulled over for speeding (I was speeding). The officer asks for my license and registration. I tell him "I have a firearm in my glove box and on my person and my registration is in my glove box." (BTW, this was at dusk)

He tells me he doesn't give a shit because "His gun is right here" and to stop wasting his time and get my registration.

I guess it's good to be white.

Yea your right, cops are untrained idiots so we have to treat them with care. I see what you are saying now. :whiste:

White and Asian, we're good. As long as you don't have tats (My Asian buddy who's tatted up got pulled out and cuffed for a simple stop). Any shade of brown, tough luck.

Not sure what to think of this. Cop is probably screwed, but what if the guy HAD grabbed a gun? Then you might be reading a story of a cops murder instead. Tough gig to be a cop, not a job id ever take. Also that cop is a really bad shot lol. 3+ shots that close and guy isnt dead.

Which actually makes this video something to show people who own handguns for defense but don't train. This guy was forced to qualify and had training and under stress still managed to fuck it up.

This is why I go to the range at least once every two weeks and why I feel that if you really want to use a firearm for self defense you need more training than just shooting down range can ever give you.

Wow. I hope that guy wins millions in a civil case.
Even after the first shot and the guy turned around, he fired again and again!

Poor guy... even after he put his arms up, he fired AGAIN!

As a cop, you need more restraint than "uh oh, he turned inside his car fast, must shoot to kill."
I guess that's why he is in jail now.

im happy the guy lived and happy the cop is getting in trouble but honestly how the fuck do you fire 3-4 shots from 10 feet and not actually kill the person you are shooting at

Yeah, if the guy actually reached for a gun and pulled it the cop would probably be dead.

On the lighter side, since the guy lived and the cop is in jail, its kinda funny how the victim keeps says "Awww...why'd you shoot me?? Awww...he told me to get my license then he shot me! awww...."

When two people are moving, targeting is more difficult than you realize.

The sad thing is think of how many times this has happened in the past with no camera, and maybe the guy died. Cop gets off scott free because anything he says is going to be believed.

Whenever I'm pulled over by the cops for speeding etc I am very careful to telegraph my actions and move slowly so as not to catch hot lead. This is one of the reasons why I usually take my wallet out of my back pocket and put it in the console or the passengers seat. That way, when I'm pulled over I have the wallet in a place that doesn't require a threatening reach. I also keep both hands on the steering wheel until I need to do something for them.

Part of the problem is that many people don't appreciate the risks cops are under and therefore fail to act carefully in situations like that. I'm not blaming the victims here just pointing out that cops ARE performing a dangerous job and human nature tells you that this increases the chance they will act aggressively when something isn't exactly as they expect.

It would suck to be a cop nowadays...

Brian

Bullsh*t! Cops get their million dollar pensions and benefits. Its a privilege to be a cop nowadays. 😡

Wish I was a cop. 🙁

That is just ridiculous, yea, cops get shot at from time to time but that in no way, shape or form gives a cop a reason to start plugging rounds into someone who was just obeying what the cop asked him to do, this man is a total moronic asshole for doing this and the courts agree, he has been terminated and has been charged with felony assault, hope he spends plenty of time in the "big" house, I'm sure he'll be popular..

Yup I wondered the same thing. The good old he was reaching for his belt defense.

What is even more lame is that it's at a gas station, and lots of other people around. Who knows where the rest of the bullets went or who could have possibly got hit also.

Cop's take a risk in many situations when pulling someone over but that "comes with the territory" so to speak, you can't just assume he had a gun and start blazing away at a dude who was getting a wallet with his license in it.

I wasn't implying that. I was referring to the cop's poor shooting. The victim reached in, was shot at, came out and looked at the cop while the cop fired a couple more times, and then just went to the ground on his own. I was just saying that if the victim actually wanted to reach for a gun and shoot the cop, he would have probably killed the cop because the cops shooting was so bad.

Anyways, this cop was actually lucky no one was parked in their car in the background waiting for gas. Or he didn't hit one of the pumps. This is was like the worst place to shoot a gun, especially if he can't come close to hitting what he was aiming at.
