The dude came home and bragged online about making a kid cry. Sorry, don't trust it.
I'm in no way implying any of you are wrong, just a personal opinion.

I think towing the car was a little bit over the top, a bunch of tickets would have gotten the point across, but I don't feel too bad about it either way.

Eh, misdemeanor and a tow is a lighter sentence than I have gotten for a much less serious offense. I guess the kid will have to take the bus to school tomorrow just like everyone else. Idiot had it coming.

i had an idea today: if you're under 18 your provisional driver's license is only good for 150 hp and under cars.

I wish this story were true, but I just can't believe it. A cop does not make enough money to afford a 335i.

I think all teens should be forced to drive mercedes 240D's. God they are slow. I made the mistake of trying to pass a dump truck on a 2 lane road. Truck driver probably though I was crazy, had to abort the pass half way through.

Essentially setting a trap (a deserved one, but still) seems a little off to me. Like what was previously stated, flashing a badge would have been more than enough to scare the kid into acting a little more in line. Now this kid is more than likely going to have a chip on shoulder when dealing with officers for awhile, which may be doing more harm than good. Also, we are only getting one side of the story here, might be a little overstated. That stated, don't mistake this for me defending the kid here.

What kind of trap is it? What exactly is a (sensible) person to do in the cop's situation? He could have pulled him over on the first try. He let it go and the kid came back 3 more times.

Haha that is totally win!

Sometimes I wish I could be a cop so I can bust people going 70 in the school zones. I'll admit I tend to go a bit over the limit, but 10 over is my limit, and I try to usually do more like 5 over. In lot of cases going faster wont really help, you're just going to hit a red light that would of been green if you would of been doing the limit. Lot of streets are synchronized in a way that if you do the speed limit you hit all the greens.

My pick would be a Ford Falcon. Old 80s model with no power steering and no abs. Stick shift too. That would teach them how to drive properly 🙂
