You haven't overtly in this particular thread aside from telling me what /you'd/ do, which of course implies that this particular guy is a "bad apple", and not representative of a group. There's no doubt he's a bad apple, but he's very representative of the group.

Even if I'm wrong, and it's only a significant minority of cops that are bad; it's still tolerated far more than it should be. Instead of deference, they should be nailed to a fuckin' cross, because violation of trust, and abuse of power are about the worst crimes that can be committed.

Meanwhile, you ignore the positive threads about LE and insist that the negative stories are the ones representative of the group.

People like you are a huge reason why I am rapidly losing interest in getting back into law enforcement. Congrats on helping drive away the ones you don't see in the news - because all you want to do is focus on the bad and insist that's how everyone is.

Pro-tip to anyone looking at getting into public service - go be a firefighter.

Should never have been said.

It's a damn good thing you edited your post in advance of us finding it, as your last line was absolutely unacceptable. 🙁

Cops drive away citizens, citizens drive away cops. It's a vicious circle, eh?

Cops arrest firefighters too.

This jlee guy seems to have all the right stuff to be a cop.

Calm, cool, and collected, even under the highly stressful environment of an internet message board. 🙂

just needs a badge, loaded weapon, tazer, and a big old cowboy hat to finish it all off.

Well, you could scream "PIG!" and throw stuff.

Or you could tell them you wished they were dead, as well as everyone they ever have or will work with. I hear that works too. :colbert:

I'm done, guys. I will never understand your bitterness and hatred and unwillingness to accept that there might be some people who deserve the uniform. It saddens me when I try to point out that there are some good guys out there and it gets blown off or twisted into something else. It's not worth the frustration, the effort, or the time to attempt to educate those who don't want to be educated. I expect that from angry drunks. From people uttering threats from the back seat - describing in detail exactly what they'd like to do to my family, wife, kids, etc. I don't expect that in a message forum where I choose to spend my own time.

There was a time in this forum where openly wishing death upon people didn't fly. There was a time where there was some positivity evident, or some semblance of logic presented in discussions - even those relating to law enforcement. Sadly, those days appear to be gone.

Regardless, since none of you care anyway, I'll leave you to enjoy your hating in peace.

next time an officer lobs a flash grenade in to a babys crib utterly devastating him, i'll remember that one time he did something for someone that wasn't an abuse of power.

Hey, I'm on your side. Read my posts again.

I'm sure they were aiming for that crib. 🙄

The next time someone in a group you belong to has a horrible accident that hurts someone, I'll remember that it wasn't all of you. You are being facetious while I am being sincere. Now: justify the double standard.

and i'm sure the ongoing militarization of police is completely justified.

yes i went a too far.

the streets of anytown usa are not the streets of iraq.

police do NOT need vehicles that stand up to mines.

they were doing ok with the standard issue cruises.

You'll find a lot more people agree with that than with a lot of your earlier sentiments.

Too late, you lost any credibility when you made the dead cop comment.

I consider that worse than littering.

Make being a police officer require 4 yrs of University education and then 4 years at a police school. Imagine if our officers were educated.

The problem is the norm has changed for the worse.....most cops who are good cops are actually bad cops and just as guilty as the cop they see abusing his authority but they refuse to turn in a fellow cop!!
