Please enlighten us all how this man was a "criminal"? I keep seeing everyone throw that word around but from the article he was being pulled over for not having a seatbelt on. Explain.

If an officer tells you to stop, and you run, it's a crime. Also, from the article,
He did not have a driver’s license, investigators said in their reports.
Sounds like a criminal to me.
Now, are those serious enough to warrant a big multi-car chase? That's certainly open for debate. I can see both sides of that argument.

Here ya go, snapperhead.

From the Florida legal code:

316.1935 Fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer; aggravated fleeing or eluding.—(1) It is unlawful for the operator of any vehicle, having knowledge that he or she has been ordered to stop such vehicle by a duly authorized law enforcement officer, willfully to refuse or fail to stop the vehicle in compliance with such order or, having stopped in knowing compliance with such order, willfully to flee in an attempt to elude the officer, and a person who violates this subsection commits a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.

Felon.
That's quite irrelevant and you know it. Yes, it was illegal. Yes, the punishment for a felony isn't death (wrongful).

guy breaks the law.
guy runs from the cops.
he dies.
i don't feel bad.
I wouldn't feel bad if the guy was the cause of his death. You should feel bad the cause was the police.

Why? Even the most cynical person can agree with this: society will bear the costs of what at a minimum is a wrongful death suit due to the cop not following procedure.

This will likely FAR outweigh the incarceration costs. By a MILE.

Oh yeah he was the worst society has to offer! Off with his head! 🙄

Criminal not found and I don't blame him for running. I would have done the same if I were him.

What you you call more than 24 arrests in 20 years, an outstanding citizen?, I'm not saying he should have been run over, but your posting "criminal not found" only is making a bigger ass of yourself, if that's possible. If a cop pulls you over and you have no license YOU ARE A CRIMINAL, DRIVING REQUIRES A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE, UNDERSTAND?

Depraved responses from depraved society. Maybe we should get castrated for jay walking (only if you have a record though). Good to see the pigs have such obedient servants. The NSA likes that too. I'm so proud of you guys. You're heroes!

Guy runs from a seatbelt violation.

Either did something previously that may/not be unknown at the moment or he is a complete utter idiot.

I don't feel sorry for the jackass in either case.

How often do police chase after someone running on foot with their vehicles?? Don't they usually pull over, call for backup and run after them? what's the usual SOP?

Punk`s family will sue for millions.

So far 500k according to the article.

Also according to the article, Harris was suppose to stop chasing him in his car once the lead stopped. He went against his training and kept going.

Edit: people should read the article

well, it's pretty simple. break the law then run, no sympathy. one less idiot on the road. if he would've killed someone in that car, no license, no insurance, everyone else suffers. yeah, i'll sleep better tonight knowing another dumbass is gone.

Yes the punishment for running from police should be death. 🙄

With statements like this no wonder we have such a fucked up society.

Oh great another one. He didn't have a seatbelt on and thats a "criminal"? Are you kidding me? Running from police does not give them the right to run you over with a car. All the police officer got was fired from his job. Well isn't he lucky. Maybe I should run over a cop and ask my employer to fire me as punishment.

You seem to be missing a few facts:

The " running over part " was obviously an accident. The police did not run him over intentionally.

The dipshit that got ran over had broken the law and they were chasing him. He broke the law again by running in a car ( placing other innocent lives in danger ).

The Policemen that ran him over did get fired for not following procedure. He did not break the law in any way.

Brown, 38, well-known in the community as a barber, had more than two dozen arrests in 20 years and was released from jail in April after serving time for drug possession. He did not have a driver’s license, investigators said in their reports.

He had the anti-anxiety drug alprazolam and the painkiller oxycodone in his system, according to the FHP.

Harris will not be criminally charged, State Attorney R.J. Larizza said last week in announcing results of the four-month investigation. Harris was cleared of vehicular homicide by a grand jury.

He was a fuckin criminal. Illegal drugs, No drivers license, running from the police ... The police officer was cleared of charges by a grand jury.

and you have no clue why criminals are criminals. because they don't care about the ramifications, they don't care about you, me and the countless others that their actions have on people.
yes, castrate the lot of them. but you and the liberals keep on babysitting them.

Last time I checked according to police pursuits you the police accidently hits/kills an innocent bystander pursing you - you can be charged for that bystander's death and not the police.... and in this case the fleeing person gets killed and not some innocent bystander...:hmm:

clearly the cops should have coaxed the poor felon out with hot coco and marshmallows, a nice blankie, and given him a ride home from the awful experience of being chased by the cops, no charges for this upstanding citizen of course, having to sue the city for emotional pain and being out of breath would surely be punishment enough :'(

run from the cops and of course they're going to chase you, run from the cops over something as small as a seatbelt ticket and they're really going to chase you because they're now asking themselves what else you've been up to.

it was an accident, shit happens, I don't feel bad for the criminal.

dude took off from the scene where he was pulled over in his vehicle, then jumped out and tried to bail on foot.

No one's depraved, I'm not saying the penalty for his crime that night was death, rather he brought 90% of it on himself by leaving the scene of a traffic stop, the cop was about to find out he had no license so he hauled ass, had he stayed in his car (and gotten arrested for driving without a license) he would not be dead. The cop in question was terminated for not following proper procedure during a chase.
