Cop acted reasonably when he rammed wrong truck and shot at it

http://tbrnews.com/news/redondo_bea...cle_b8db95b4-8534-11e3-8274-0019bb2963f4.html

Officer Brian McGee acted in “an atmosphere of fear and extreme anticipation” when he purposely rammed David Perdue’s pickup truck and fired at least three shots at him on Feb. 7, 2013, mistakenly believing Dorner was at the wheel.

McGee and Sooper came away from the briefing believing that an encounter with Dorner would result in either their own, or Dorner’s, death.”

This put McGee and Sooper on “heightened alert,” anticipating a shoot-out with Dorner, who McGee said was ‘dedicated to killing people,’ ” the report said.

The report said McGee’s own audio recorder heard him tell Perdue, “This guy’s killing cops. He’s there to kill more. He’s killed one in Riverside, killed a couple in Irvine, he’s got a rifle, he’s military trained.”

SOOOO...... I'm curious about people getting scared of cops after being pulled over with all the news of police being completely out of control recently. If someone feels threatened by an agressive cop, is it reasonable to shoot them? After all, they've got rifles and most have "military" training.... right? I'm sure it's reasonable...

How much more do Americans have to take before something happens? When is POTUS going to issue an executive order for cops to stop beating and killing innocents? When are judges going to look past the thin blue line?

And remember, if someone is killing COPS, it's a big deal and there is a state-wide if not nation-wide manhunt. But if someone got killed in the street, it's just an annoying amount of paperwork to take care of. Us vs Them mentality. . .

WHAT THE FUCK.

And police wonder why they went from being hero's to people ot now feared and hated.

Officers were given a description of his Nissan Titan pickup truck, were told of his weapons training, and discussed tactics of what to do if they encountered him.

good thing the truck pictured is a honda ridgeline (i'm almost certain, can anyone back me up on that?)

honda ridgeline nissan titan... virtually identical...

except for not even looking similar.

also the hell is this?

Perdue was on his way to pick up a friend to go surfing when, nearby, eight Los Angeles police officers opened fire on two newspaper carriers they mistakenly believed was Dorner arriving at the home of a Los Angeles police official on Dorner’s target list.
john wayne shootem up...lol

“It was only the poor marksmanship of Torrance officer Brian McGee that led to Mr. Perdue being alive today,” Sheahen said.

Oh yeah Dorner, wasn't that the guy who supposedly had dirt on the LA County police department, who eluded the cops until they found him in a cabin that mysteriously caught fire and burned to the ground with him in it? If that's the case, then yeah, it's perfectly understandable for a cop to ram into and shoot at any pickup trucks driven by a black man. You can never be too careful when you're walking the beat, ya know.

From the link posted while events were unfolding last year:
The area police are well known for their “shoot first, ask questions later” approach, and this has only been magnified in the present moment. Given the muted response from the media and local officials, it is clear that they do not intend to hold these officers responsible for the shooting of innocents.

opened fire from behind on a blue truck, looks like a toyota?
these two were just awarded 2.4mil so i'm not sure why this was different...

well clearly the LAPD are illiterate...

toyota and nissan don't even look like honda...unless oh shit...

HIDE ALL THE ASIANS!

I can understand the cops' fear and anticipation that day, but as a professional who is trusted to protect the public and is given the responsibility of carrying a firearm - letting that fear and anticipation translate into shooting up two innocent vehicles within the space of a minute - is completely unacceptable.

And yea, there easily could have been two or three dead innocent people out of this. Pure luck that there weren't, because the officers were shooting at both vehicles with absolute intent to kill the person in the driver's seats

I wonder if the description of the truck they were given included, oh I don't know, the license plate number?

I disagree with it being pure luck that they survived. It was incompetent marksmanship. Thank god the cops are such awful shots. What exactly are the qualifications for becoming a cop anyways? Do they purposely look for the dumbest, most testosterone overloaded baboon they can find?

Why the fuck do these cops still have a job?

And yet we're told that "regular" citizens, or "civilians" as LEO refer to us, can't own specific types of guns but cops should have them(even off duty) because they have superior training. . ..

It's pretty scary. One of the most basic rules of handling guns is to know your target. How can these cops possibly be handling weapons safely or responsibly if they don't even know who they are shooting at?

That alone should be the loss of a service pistol or job. There's no way to shoot up these vehicles and the two old ladies unless these cops are just blindly firing.

Anyone else doing stuff like that gets charged with a crime.

I thought they were using M4/AR15 military style assault weapons of war with deadly high capacity magazines and barrel shrouds that have no place on our streets..?

Another scary one, they're arming up:

Us vs Them . . . . .. disarm the citizenry and arm the JBT's .. ..

incompetent marksmanship.

Throughout Southern California, law enforcement agencies took precautions for a potential showdown with Dorner, issuing a rare Blue Alert as the manhunt moved into the Big Bear area.
Inspired by the Amber Alert notification system that alerts the public to abducted children, the Blue Alert system was enacted in January 2011 to notify the public of individuals on the lam who are suspected of killing or seriously injuring peace officers, said Officer Mario Lopez of the CHP's Inland Division in San Bernardino.

hahaha a special alert for all the JBT's if the blue line gets crossed?

As has been stated before, when you are allowed to shoot based on fear alone, cowards will shoot the most.

This applies to cops and civilians alike.

A-fucking-men.

There is so much fear mongering and what-ifs, it must be a horrible existence to constantly clench your gun.

Pathetic.
