Anyone own a cooper cooler ?

I'm interested in what cooling technology it uses. Does anyone own one? I'm guessing it is way too small for a compact refrigeration unit, so I think it is using a peltier (TEC). However, it seems too small for that too. I understand how the device works, just not what cooling technology it is using.

It works by spraying a jet of cold water over the can or bottle, so you'll have to keep reloading the thing with ice and water if you have more than a six-pack to cool.
 
It would be good to see the technical specs on the cooler. (every appliance has a spec label on it that telss you voltages, current draw etc...)

It would be interesting to see if a refrigerant is involved, cause for what they are saying they are making some bold statements. I dont think you could chill that fast with water. (normally chilled water systems only go down to about 7degrees celcius.

I am more inclined to belive that they dump liquid refrigerant into a chamber and use the evaporation effect.



If you find a spec sheet post a link, or search for "R134a" or "R600"
 
I read the Q&A section... they use an ice tray plus some models use thermo electric chilling <-- which is a really lame method to chill.
 
your actually better off to save your moneies and buy a couple of bags of party ice and an esky. That machine will only chill a 750bottle of wine.... lame.

assuming you are 'sloshing' it around at 300rpm.

The cooler uses about 16 ice cubes to do it's job.

8 ice cubes are melted in making the re-circulating water cold. The remaining 8 cubes are then available to chill 2 beverages. The ice is used to keep the water cold.. and the beverages rotate within the product at 300rpm. While it is rotated, cold water is constantly sprayed across the can/bottle.

I can run a mile in 5 minutes! (if you double the time or cut the track in half)

Still won't do it in five minutes. You need to spin the bottle or can to keep the fluid inside moving. This keeps the outside from getting cold and the core or other spots remaining warm. I remember seeing a thing that clamped onto a can and let you spin it with a drill. Handy little devise to keep in your shop toolbox for after work.

Uhhh... it's only claiming to be able to chill a can to 43F in one minute, but in order to chill it from 43 to 33 it will take an extra minute.
