That's sounds pretty normal. Its a bit on the high end, which may be due to the SuperOrb or just inaccuracies in the temperature readings. Any idea what your case temps are?

You put too much dude. I have the same mobo, with RadioShack silicone paste, GlobalWin FOP32-1, running at 105F, circa 41C, after Quake III. Mobo temp is 86F, circa 30C. Clean off the chip with alcohol Q-Tips, and put one dot of Artic Silver in the middle of the die. The HSF will smash it all over and give you just the right amount with an even spread. Try not to move the HSF when clipping it on, and don't take it off once you contact the two surfaces, unless you want to clean it again. Have fun, I did the same thing. I was running at 120F.

CPU temp on mine is 44C idle. That may seem high considering I have a ArctiCooler and Arctic Silver paste. Just make sure that you applied the HSF and paste properly. If you're not getting any crashes then there's no problem with the setup. My temps move to 48 under load, but these temps are never accurate anyway. If your having a heat problem, Windows will crash.
I think it's difficult to put too much. The pressure of the HSF should push any "extra" out. Temperature differences after a reseat can be due to many factors. You may have moved the thermal probe, for example.
