I just ordered this cooling device and didnt relize that is says it supports upto 1.33gig chips, well my problem is that i have a 1.4gig chip...

what i was wondering is if it will be safe to use this fan/heatsink on that 1.4gig chip even though it says it only supports upto 1.3...

but the kicker is, this is susposed to be one of the best cooling devices statsed to Hard OCP, and it is a 7k RPM fan...

here article on it.

Basicly i want to know if this fan/heatsink will keep my 1.4gig cool enough to run at a normal speed not OC'ed.

Thanks.

it should work fine. not much more heat at 1.4 then at 1.33

just make sure you have good case cooling (meaning case exhaust fans)

Cooling is far from an exact science. To rate a HSF at 1.33 probably means that it is fine upto 1.7. That's just my opinion.

I would not think twice about it if I were you; that's less then 10% difference.
