is it necessary to get hdd cooling for the ibm 75 gxp hdd? if so are there any recommendations?

hmm.. thanks! is this true even if my hdd is stacked quite closely together in the 3.5" bays?

Run defrag on your computer, then open case and touch the drive. If it's hot, then you better get cooling.

rmd2001: hm...thanks. any recommendations if i really do need to get one? i have space constraint in that my hdd is stacked real close in the 3.5" bays.

I have 2 IBM's and 2 Maxtor's all stacked upwith no problem. Of course my case does have a 92mm fan blowing on them........

If you have space, the HDDho from 3Dfxcool is nice, although the GXP doesn't really get hot (you can see a full review of the cooler along with temperature readings at my site HERE). Hope that clears up any misconceptions :p

Simply to add another opinion, GXP75s are cool, you wont have any problems. Cooling isnt needed.
