Cooling fans - 3 pin, 4 pin...huh?

Hi there, n00b here. My old KT7 mobo just went out (busted the capacitor off, was shorting out, already maxed out the CPU, etc.), and I recently purchased a new NFS-7, 1700+ Tbred, and 512MB of 2700 DDR. But then I realized - my box right now is quite hot (or bound to be - temps have been about 54C at hottest). I need to get me some fan action in there (none of those recommended exhaust fan thingies - whoops!). Basically, I want my box to be fast, quiet and cool. (who doesn't?)

Anywho, I've come down to a decision on the type of fan I want - a Panaflo high volume. My question(s) is/are this:

What connector do I have to get?

and...

How many fans should I get?

I appreciate any assistance in this matter.

All motherboard fan headers are all 3 pin, the yellow wire is used for monitoring the fans rpm's.
If you see fans for sale that use 4 pin then these are basically too powerful for you fan headers to deal with and you risk burning them out so what they use is a molex plug which is exactly the same as your hard drive/optical drives.
If your wanting a fast rpm/cfm fan then it should come with a molex plug.
Higher volume fans are going to be louder especially if they are 80/92mm size, so your not going to get your quietness your hoping for.
What you need to do is figure out how to get better airflow in and out of your case if you want to cool things down.
