cooling app for temp readout on Compaq laptop

I'm looking for an app to read the CPU and system temperature on my Compaq Presario 700 series laptop. It has a mobile Duron 1Ghz CPU. I've tried a couple different apps, but they won't report out the temperature.

I too am curious about this. A couple days ago I tried the latest version of MBM5 on a relatively new (p3/800) Dell laptop. No dice, I couldn't get a single temperature readout.

Most likely you are not going to find a program that can do this, since it has to be coded to grab readings from specific hardware monitoring chips from certain motherboards. What this means is that only the most popular mobos get supported Laptops, server mobos, etc... are left out of this loop.
